According to the Public Relations Department of JISCO, Managing Director of Jahed Investment Company, Mr. Behzad Ahmadi, announced the arrival and clearance of 20,000 tons of Indian rice and emphasized that the first shipment of Basmati 1121 long grain rice from the contract of 60,000 tons with India was released after obtaining the licenses of Health, Food and Drug Organization, and Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran.

Mr. Ahmadi pointed out that the import of rice is a part of the policy of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad to manage the consumption market and supply the household basket of the society.

He added the purchased rice has high quality and will be available nationwide soon.

He also emphasized that the remaining 40,000 tons have been produced and bagged at the origin and are on the way to Iran.

Since the quality of the ordered rice is of great importance to Jahed Investment Company, the CEO of JISCO along with the board member of Jihad Esteghlal Institute visited the process of production and bagging of the consignment.
